It’s in easy reach to the towns and shops, but it’s hidden away and makes you feel as if you’ve been transported to a peaceful place. Booking Far Boathouse is the best decision when you want views of the lake, the hills and the gorgeous skyline. It’s an excellent place to base yourself if you love to walk, watch the wildlife or simply get away from it all. It’s a wonderfully unique venue for a romantic weekend and it’s the perfect spot for a magical proposal!

North Bank Eamont Bridge

Overlooking the beautiful river Eamont is North Bank – a huge, grade-2 listed bungalow. A total refurbishment has been completed in the past few years, which has enabled the bungalow to maintain its original character and makes for a wonderful base. Whether you are travelling as a family or in a large group of friends, you get to enjoy a beautiful bungalow in the Lake District with a large country-style kitchen, too! There are views overlooking beautiful gardens and plenty of comfortable sofas and chairs to get cosy. With large bathrooms and airy, walk-in showers, there is plenty of room for that relaxing bubble bath you’ve been waiting for. There is free Wi-Fi here, but you won’t need it beyond that cosy evening movie!

Winterfell Cottage Bowness

You want to be cosy but you want to have some space so it’s not claustrophobic, and you get what you want at Winterfell Cottage in Bowness. The modern appliances make life easy, and you can use the well-stocked kitchen to cook your favourite meals. The best bit about Winterfell Cottage is the beautifully-grown garden. It’s secluded and private, and the shrubs and flowers just come to life in the spring and summer. If you get lucky, you may even spot ducks and pheasants! The cottage isn’t far from the lake and you can reach the fells on foot, and you’re only a short drive from some exclusive restaurants and shops, too! When you sit back and relax in the conservatory, you can even spot some rabbits in the right season! The winter weekenders are just as great here as there is a cosy open fire – perfect for cold winter nights!

Halfway House Lakeland 17th Century Cottage

History buffs will love exploring this former 17th century toll house! Located in Clappersgate within 1.5 miles of Ambleside, Halfway House Lakeland is set just off the road in a fantastic riverside location. You can find Langdale Valley a short walk away and it’s close enough to Grasmere, Hawkshead and Keswick to name but a few areas to visit! There are an abundance of activities nearby, with a footpath that takes you on a 30-minute walk to Loughrigg and over to Ambleside. There are further footpaths nearby, too, so avid walkers will love this base to rest and relax before exploring once again. You want to have a beautiful place to rest and recuperate, and this is it. You get privacy and comfort all in one fell swoop!

The Low Farm

Those who love to stay at traditional cottages will love the generous accommodation here. You can have up to nine guests staying at one time and there are four bedrooms to stay in. it’s perfect for larger groups, and if you want some original features in your cottage stay, you’ll love the flagstone and oak floors, wood burning stove, Aga and beamed ceilings! Original doors and timber panelling are also a feature and there is also plenty of parking, so if you’re all driving up you can all keep the cars close by. The best bit of this stay is the Scandinavian hot tub – perfect to relax after a long day on the fells. You can sit back and see the stars while you soak, too, and it’s the perfect way to relax after day. The clear waters of the River Duddon are not very far at all. Staying here gives you everything you need, including a stocked kitchen to create meals you love for everyone.

The Boathouse At Knotts End

For a quirky retreat, you want the Boathouse located at Knotts End. It sits perfectly serenely away from the hustle and bustle of the local towns. They’re still there, but you don’t have to worry about hearing much noise from nearby places. This cottage is situated in the middle of ten acres of private woodland, so privacy is well-maintained here. The Boathouse offers you an experience that is off the beaten path, and it’s perfectly placed on the Lake Ullswater western shores. It was built with original 19th century Cumbrian stone, and it’s a luxurious mini getaway for those who want a honeymoon, a private weekend together or just to relax!

The Snug

For a traditional cottage in Keswick, the Snug is the answer for you. It’s been modernised, decorated to the highest of standards and it sits in the heart of the Lake District. The surrounding areas include the villages of the Lake District, the local Keswick attractions and Lake Derwentwater only a five minute stroll out of the way.
